Phnom Penh, Cambodia, December 2, 2024 – PPCBank, known as the easy banking bank, is continuing to improve the lives of underserved communities in Cambodia while also expanding its services to Cambodians living abroad. In a recent initiative, the bank teamed up with doctors from South Korea and Cambodia to provide free medical treatment to some 365 Cambodians in Kampot, Kampong Speu and Kandal provinces, helping improve access to healthcare and the overall wellbeing of the most vulnerable in Cambodian society. More CSR initiatives of this nature are also planned for across 2025.
PPCBank Expands Services for Cambodians in South Korea and Strengthens Local Impact with Healthcare Initiative
At the same time, PPCBank has made banking more accessible for Cambodians living and working in South Korea. They are now able to open a Fast Account with PPCBank Mobile App, using only their National ID or passport, and a South Korean phone number. This means they can manage their funds securely, swiftly and conveniently, thousands of miles from home, and still enjoy competitive interest rates on their savings.
The Fast Account boasts a full range of financial solutions and benefits for Cambodians residing in South Korea. They can earn interest on both savings and deposit accounts, not only generating additional income, but also doing so with the highest levels of account security.
PPCBank President, Mr. LEE Jin Young, said the new Fast Account for those in South Korea, was in line with the Bank’s mission to make banking as easy as possible for Cambodians, wherever in the world they may be. “We want to assist Cambodians abroad to efficiently manage their finances, even though they are living away from their home countries. This new feature will empower our hardworking Cambodian community in South Korea to access a full range of benefits and secure valuable savings for their future,” he said.
The new cross-border initiative opens up a whole new level of convenience for Cambodians who need to send money back home. Not only does it expand the beneficiary network from South Korea, but also provides a safe and seamless way for Cambodian migrant workers to get cash back to their families, without the need to pay hefty fees and commissions to brokers.
Fast Account holders in South Korea can set a maximum daily transaction limit of up to $10,000, which is the equivalent of over 13-million Korean won. This can be transferred to their beneficiary’s PPCBank account without any fees. Any funds sent by Fast Account users are delivered in real-time.
