PPCBank, Cambodia’s most influential commercial bank, has once again teamed up with doctors from South Korea and Cambodia to provide free medical checkups, treatment and medicines for some 365 Cambodians in Kampot, Kampong Speu and Kandal provinces. The medical assistance was rolled out between November 18 and 21, 2024.
PPCBank Partners with South Korean Doctors to Offer Free Medical Check-Ups and Medicines to Underprivileged Communities
The life-changing event was made possible through coordination with the respective Provincial Health Departments and other local authorities, with a specialized team of doctors from South Korea joining hands with their local counterparts from Phnom Penh’s PMC-Atomy Medical Center. General check-ups were performed, in addition to specialized dental treatments, ophthalmological examinations and rehabilitation, for those most in need, especially young children.
PPCBank President, Mr. LEE Jin Young, hailed the rollout, saying,
“This is not the first time that the people of the selected provinces have been able to access free healthcare from volunteer doctors. Last year, more than 500 disadvantaged people were examined and treated by a team of specialist South Korean doctors. We are proud to continue this tradition of offering quality healthcare to disadvantaged Cambodians. This is a vital element of our commitment to social responsibility and to making a real difference in the communities we serve.”
The Bank’s initiative has been designed to significantly contribute to blindness prevention and oral health education, while also curing more common ailments and conditions that people in rural areas are dealing with. It forms part of PPCBank’s commitment to improving quality of life across the country, while also fostering a culture of humanitarianism and deepening the bonds between Cambodia and South Korea.
PPCBank will continue collaborating with international healthcare professionals, local authorities and community organizations to provide vital services to underserved communities. Through these partnerships, PPCBank strives to improve access to healthcare, enhance public awareness of common health issues and contribute to the overall wellbeing of the most vulnerable in society.
